QA Is No Longer About Testing

Just a few years ago, the primary responsibilities of QA engineers were finding defects, writing test cases, and automating tests. Today, that is no longer enough. Quality professionals are increasingly expected to take responsibility for overall product quality, participate in decision-making, use AI in their daily work, and contribute to improving development processes.

Based on the findings of the Russia Quality Report 2025–2026 this talk explores three key changes that are reshaping the QA profession: the shift from testing to quality engineering, the practical adoption of AI in everyday QA activities, and the transition from focusing on test automation to building mature engineering processes.

The session is intended for QA engineers, QA Leads, and engineering managers who want to understand how the profession is evolving and which skills are becoming essential today.
