Test-Rex — a Routine Hunter: Generating Automated Tests with LLMs and Project Context

Test-Rex is a prototype system for generating automated tests based on LLMs, utilising RAG search across the project's codebase and existing tests. The system accepts a textual description of a user scenario, extracts relevant context from the repository, creates prompts using templates, and generates executable test code. The talk will cover the solution’s architecture, indexer implementation, and quality criteria for generated tests. Limitations and future development directions will also be discussed.
