Reliance on APIs to foster communication between systems, apps and devices is important and steadily increasing because of trends like cloud computing, the Internet of Things and more. APIs should be tested alongside other features and functionality of the product. If an API breaks because errors weren’t detected, there is the threat of not only breaking a single application, but an entire chain of business processes connected to it.
