ETL-processes testing features
Nowadays data analysis and reporting are essential parts of any big enterprise systems. There is a special set of approaches that helps to establish data movement and transformation within the IT infrastructure called ETL. It is short for Extract, Transform, Load, three functions that are combined to pull data out of different sources and consolidate and transfer them to another target data warehouses or data marts.
My report is about special features which are related to testing of ETL-processes. It contains a brief overview of ETL, its components and usage and, of course, how to test it. In particular, it describes different testing approaches for ETL components, complexities that may arise, and differences from “classic” applications.
The report will be interesting for participants who are involved in ETL-processes testing as well as for people who want to learn new about software testing.
