Software testing - what to read about
-
40 min
The talk presents an analysis of technical interviews with external candidates and their answers to the question, “How did you learn testing, and what did you read about it?”. A short list of previously popular software testing books authors is provided. The talk examines the pitfalls of entry-level knowledge and the “theory” of testing, highlighting the need for systematic study of testing methodology (not theory!). It also thoroughly reviews and recommends current and essential books on testing and related professions, giving examples of valuable information found only in books. The talk explains who needs to know this and why.
