Testing: Models and Standards

Testing activities are well-established in the industry, with ongoing development focused on tools and their integration into project management and configuration systems. However, this 'tool-driven' approach can introduce chaos and short-term thinking into the testing process. When confusion arises, teams often search for models, methodologies, or standards that might offer solutions. Unfortunately, choices are sometimes made based on vague criteria or peer recommendations, without proper understanding. This can lead to a once-effective process becoming increasingly inefficient.
