Features of Testing Public Sector Systems

  • 20 min

Testing in the public sector is like assembling IKEA furniture — using instructions in three languages, no pictures, and someone keeps turning off the lights.

In my talk, I’ll share how we tested government systems — where deadlines were “yesterday”, documentation shows up after launch, and there are more approvals than actual bugs.

I’ll explain what makes testing in the public sector so special, what hidden pitfalls await at every step, and how to stay sane when everyone demands things “urgently” — but no one can clearly say what they actually need.

This will be useful for everyone who’s already survived a government project… and for those just wondering whether it’s even worth going there. (Hint: it is — as long as you come prepared with patience… and a good cup of tea.)
