What Is Architecture, and How Does It Affect Testing?

  • 40 min

There is a different understanding of what architecture is. Some believe that it is a set of technologies and frameworks, while others talk about the most important decisions that are difficult to change. I believe that architecture is a scheme of how software provides business support and how it is integrated into it.

There are two main architecture alternatives now: a classic enterprise monolith and microservices, as well as their combination. We will look at how the same business can be supported by different options and how this is described in the diagrams. We will also analyse the influence of architecture on the system quality attributes: stability, performance, scalability, and we will look at what issues should be focused on when testing the system depending on the selected architecture.
