Decision making for software tester

We make decisions every day. Quite often they are based on intuition and experience, but it doesn't mean that they are not effective. What is a secret here? However, we need more structured and reliable approaches to make most critical and important decisions. But we face with a question - are these methods applicable to testing? In this talk I will tell you about heuristics (lightweight methods) and more sophisticated methods like Kepner and Tregoe. We will use example - creating test strategy - to show how we usually make decisions, on which things these decisions are based, how we can make our decisions better.
