What should I do before starting the UI automation

So, we've got a new project for UI automation. What should we start with? What to do?

Here we will take a look at what can we do before starting writing the tests:

Few easy steps, that will help us to prepare test architecture, so we can spend less time writing and supporting our tests.

Since we are talking more on architecture, it does not matter what are we going to automate: this will be usefull equally for mobile, desktop and web applications.

What will i get?
