MQ-services performance testing approaches

In the talk, we will tell you about the specifics of performance testing of services communicating via queue managers (MQs).

The talk is divided into three parts:

Part 1: The basics of building a performance testing process. 

Part 2: Test tools. We use JMeter when there is plenty of time; otherwise, other tools, such as PerfHarness. We will tell you why these tools are convenient for solving problems, the ways to build MQ performance testing scenarios on JMeter exist with examples and an explanation of how the main elements of the tool work. We will also share our experience, the best practices that we apply, useful plugins and settings on this topic. 

Part 3: Features of MQ monitoring configuration. What metrics should be collected for further analysis and how to do it with samples of scripts. Nuances of MQ bottleneck analysis.
